Barbara is the Work and Learn & Marketing Coordinator. This role allows her to develop reduced-tuition rate off-campus cohort opportunities that are conveniently located in the surrounding suburbs and to showcase and market programs that are focused on research based applied practice taught by nationally recognized faculty known for their area of expertise.

As part of the Special Education department, Barbara also advises students and supports them as they progress toward obtaining a Master's degree.

Prior to coming to the University of St. Thomas, Barbara worked for 19 years at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). At MDE she worked to develop a statewide infrastructure of staff development and support for paraprofessionals, focused on state wide assessment, school improvement and staff development and training. Barbara’s career has also included teaching elementary students with special needs in St. Paul Schools and working as Assistant Director of Special Education at Rum River Special Education Cooperative. Barbara continues to work with schools to support teachers and paraprofessionals.
